Chief Executive Officer

Mari Anna Shepherd

Mari Anna brings over 30 years of financial and business experience with her to Journey Road. She served as the CFO of a major insurance company in California and has started multiple successful businesses. Mari Anna has always been involved in philanthropy and has started nonprofit organizations to solve some of the most complex issues within our communities. Mari Anna joined Journey Road due to its mission to increase access to quality behavioral and primary health care, and she has been tasked with collaborating with the Medical Director and Vice President of Behavioral Health and Social Entrepreneurship to help Journey Road realize that mission.

Medical Director

Dr. Koenigsmark practices addiction and family medicine and brings over 40 years of diverse experience providing best practice medical interventions to promote health amongst his clients. Before developing his own practices in Indiana and partnering with Journey Road as the Medical Director, Dr. Koenigsmark was the Medical Director of the Louisville Center for The Coleman Institute where he oversaw detoxification/withdrawal management for alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opioids. Dr. Koenigsmark also serves on numerous committees trying to solve complex issues, such as the opioid epidemic.

Vice President of Behavioral Health and Social Entrepreneurship

Devon is clinically/independently licensed as a social worker in Indiana and Ohio with over 12 years of experience in Behavioral Health, Child Welfare, and Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities Services in a variety of capacities in leadership, clinical treatment, advocacy, building interagency relationships, driving results, program development, and quality assurance and improvement. Devon is a firm believer that when employees are taken care of, clients are taken care of and financial and client outcomes improve. Therefore, Devon strives to create an inspiring, trusting, and results-oriented environment for employees to excel.
